On Friday, April 22, Washington State Track and Field held their first outdoor track meet since 2019. The duel meet, an extension of the WSU vs. UW Apple Cup Series, showcased the best athletes from both teams in an incredible showdown across 16 individual events.
I chose to use this event to highlight the best moments seen at Mooberry Track and to appreciate what a special place this has become for me.
Mooberry Track is a place in Pullman that has seen immense joy but also extraordinary pain. It is a place where victories are celebrated, but losses are comforted by the camaraderie of teammates who have become a second family. Some people may just see this place as a boring old oval with lanes and numbers, but to me this is home. It is an extension of my being and my reason to keep going. This track is the place that I have made lifelong friends and memories. Without this track Pullman would not be home.
