Is she “The enemy of the people”? Or a helper?

A spotlight on NWPB's host of Morning Edition.

This is Sueanne Ramella, she is the host and producer for Morning Edition, at Northwest Public Broadcasting (NWPB), an NPR affiliate. I also work for NWPB, as Sueanne's assistant producer, and as a On-Air Announcer. Sueanne’s morning starts at 4:00 in the morning, she collects the news, and writes the weather for all of Washington State.

Is she “The enemy of the people”? Or a helper?

Sueanne is on air, tagging a promo for an NPR program, Fresh Air.

This is Sueanne's board which controlls the sound levels of her microphone and or elements she may play over the air.

Sueanne’s weather forcast which is customized for each region, which is divided into zones.

Each zone will only hear their particular forcast.

On-Air light located outside the door so no one accedently walks in.

After being on air, Sueanne goes to her office to work on the second part of her job. This entails, social media and writing promotion text for herself and other announcers to read On-Air.

This is Forest Holt, one of the announcers at NWPB.

This is Forest Holt as he is recording a break.

When recording a break, two computuer screens are used.

One screen is used for the automation system, and announcers record directly into the automation system.

The other screen is used to play promos or any other elements.

After the elements end, we "tag" them and add extra information.
