First-Generation Students at WSU

For my final project, I choose the organization TRIO because it helps first-generation students to help them prepare for college. I went and took pictures of the staff, who are helping students succeed in their college education. I went and scheduled a meeting with Mrs. Carrie Ben-Yisrael, who is TRIO’s academic coordinator. In the meeting, we talked about her plans for the TRIO organization and also she invited me to come to her class session. This class session is called University 497 that is focused mostly on freshman students, who are attending college for the first time. In this class session, Mrs. Carrie is talking about the top 5 Gallup StrengthFinder assessment that the class took in a computer assessment. This assessment is to identify the five unique strengths you have in your education; she passed out the assessment to the students. They see the result and write something about their unique strength in-class assignment.
