Hometowns of the Palouse
Photos and Writing by Jamie Alexander
I decided to take pictures of hometown’s Main Streets. Almost every home town has a Main Street. These streets tend to be the heart of a city or a town. It is also likely that the street has been there since the beginning of that town. It’s a part of history. I went around to some of the local towns on the Palouse and took pictures of their Main Streets. I also tried to find something unique or noticeable from each town.
I stood in the middle of the street for majority of my photos. Unfortunately, some of these "Main Streets" are either part of a highway or a main roadway to get anywhere else in the town! I promise I was safe and looked both ways.
