There Are Always Two Sides To Christmas

Photos and Writing by Ayshane Sivells-Taylor

My goal for my “More than Meets the Eye” project was to depict the superficial aspects of Christmas versus its underlying meaning and original focus. Too often people worry about getting the perfect gift, spending the most amount of money, or getting the newest technology on the market. Rather, people should be more concerned with the quality time they’re granted with their loved ones and the excitement of Christmas traditions. I present my images first showing the negatives projected on Christmas and then present the positives for the second half of my images. When shooting my photos, I tried my best to find five negative ideas and five positives for balance, where some pictures in the middle could be seen as both. Enjoy!
