Aspiring Filmmakers

Photos and Writing by Andrew Finley

For this project, I decided to create a photojournalism that highlights three Washington State University students who share the same hobby of filming, writing, directing, and producing their own short films and videos. The group of three, consisting of students, Jack Krivokopich, Evan Johnson, and Ben Mai don’t create their own videos often, however, when the group does get together, they have complete control over the entire process. While only considered a hobby by the group currently, the three have always been in talks of bringing the collective to a larger scale. Each group member shares duties of filming, editing, and directing as they see their projects fit, while each maintaining their own individual expertise in the group. Through my photos, I wanted to detail three students who don’t let the amateur status of their group deter them from a passion of there's.

"I really enjoy the shooting aspect, I feel like I make it mine, but I still make my cameos in the videos like [Quentin] Tarantino," -Evan Johnson

Sophomore, Jack Krivokopich, is the brains behind the group, providing most of the creative thinking and ideas.

Ben Mai is the tech guy, he is responsible for the majority of the editing of the groups project's.

Together, the group has written, filmed, and edited 4 short films, however, they have yet to have been released on YouTube and other outlets.

Friends and other WSU students act in the group's films, with roles typically created to represent their real life individualism.
