Harley Squared

by Sara Copps

I wanted to do a photo essay about someone’s passion. I think passion is a form of love and it inspires people to work hard.

My subject, Alfred Harley, is incredibly passionate about motorcycles and is constantly working on his own bike. Every year he’ll add something new to the bike or change the way it looks. After coming home from work, if it’s nice out, he’ll take the bike outside and spend the evening fixing it, tuning it and making it run smoothly. To keep a motorcycle in top shape involves a lot of time, money, and effort. But to Alfred, it’s all worth it.

Wracking up the miles.

So well taken care of it shines.

He smiles as he explains how he got the bike.

Tenderly washing his motorcycle.

The bike is so clean the reflection of the hydrant can clearly be seen.
