Alpha Gamma Delta House Mom

Photos and Writing by Makena O'Malley

Greek life plays a large role in student life at WSU and my student life. Every sorority has a house mom, who lives at the sorority house all throughout the school year and is there to help us with everything we could possibly need. Margaret Howard has been the house mom for Alpha Gamma Delta for 20 years. She is the glue that holds the house together and is what makes the house feel truly like our home.

She does things for us like mending and sewing all of our clothes, running errands for us if we need any last minute items, allowing us constantly to use her printer, but best of all let's us all know each and every day just how much we mean to her.

Margaret has lots of love, stories, and experiences to share with us and we are so thankful to have her.

A picture of Margaret with all of the members of Alpha Gamma Delta's executive board, out to dinner at her favorite restaurant, Birch and Barley. *Picture not taken by me

Margaret laughing while talking about her past experiences.

One of Margaret's rooms in the sorority, where she spends time sewing and fixing our clothes.
Margaret having a conversation with one of the women in this chapter. Women come in from time to time to just hang out and talk with Margaret.
Another room of Margaret's where she can usually be found during the day.
Margaret laughing and telling us how she considers each and everyone of us her family.
A white board and sign that hangs right outside of Margarets room, where we can always write cute little notes to her.
Margaret getting yet another pair of jeans to sew.

While cleaning out her house, Margaret found a pot holder with this saying on it and found it only fit to get it enlarged and hang it in the house.

Margaret hard at work, whether it's night or morning, if we need her help she's always there for us!
