Day in the Life of a Student Athlete

Photos and Writing by Kyle Celli

Being a college student is very stressful and time consuming. From school work to balancing a healthy social life school can being very challenging at times, but adding a sport to the mix is a whole other story. I chose to follow a Washington State football player around for a day to see his daily routine and to see what it’s like to be a Student Athlete for the day.His day starts with a early breakfast and weightlifting session followed by a light workout on the field. After that there are several meetings and school work to be done. There was a film review to go over the previous practice's to see what needs to be improved on. Typically, Student Athletes are the first ones on campus and last to leave. It is apparent that after following around a Student Athlete that days are long and there is a lot of things to be done which normal students wouldn’t typically do. I got to see first-hand what it was like to be involved in a college sport and what it is take to perform at such a high level on and off the field.
