Whitman County Humane Society's Foster Care Program

Photos and Writing by Jiayi Li

The Whitman County Humane Society in Pullman is a nonprofit organization that is supported primarily from the donations of caring residents. My story idea is about their foster care program. This program is helping give temporary, loving homes to shelter animals. I think it exactly matches the topic “labor of love”, and the program is meaningful and fulfills the love between human and animals. WCHS’s worker and foster pets-parents are willing to spend their own times to take care those homeless animals, give them love, and provide medical treatment to them until those animals could be adopted.

I took the photos of WCHS’s animals and used them in my project. I only show the animal photos because I want to people after seeing those homeless animals to realize they need to join the program to help save animals. I hope my photos of animals could touch the viewer’s heart.
