I was inspired to tell a story about KZUU 90.7 FM. KZUU is a student ran radio station here on campus at Washington State University. The station is filled with volunteer DJ’s who have a passion for listening to non-commercial music. There are currently almost 60 DJ’s who do shows. The shows start at 8am and run until 2am. KZUU is unique because they are not about supporting “top-40” artists. The DJ’s have a two-hour slot once a week to give smaller artists a platform for their music to be heard. KZUU members devote their time to find new artists they would like to share with the Palouse. There is no rules for what genre of music is played on the station so you can expect to hear lots of different music when tuning in. Members of KZUU can be found tabling in the CUB on Fridays attempting expand and share the message of the station and attract more potential DJ’s. I was able to go into the studio and meet some of the DJ’s and learn more about KZUU.
Every album shown here represents a non commercial artist who KZUU has given an oppurtuninty.

Kari's show called "Pullman Backroads" promotes non commercial country music.
You can catch Kody's show "Picking Berrys" 12am-2am Tuesday Mornings.
The passion these DJ's have for sharing underground music is very strong. The different styles between DJ's keeps the station interesting.
